I'm not saying I'm a bad cook, but I use a smoke alarm as a timer.

I actually cooked the other day. I haven't done that in a while forever.
AND, I didn't catch anything on fire. The smoke alarm didn't even go off. (We thought it might have because I dropped some sausage in the bottom of the oven. Then, smoke started coming from the oven, we were getting a little worried)

Stromboli's
Here is the recipe for the most delicious food ever!
Pepperoni
Italian Sausage
Rhodes frozen dough dinner rolls
Mozarella Cheese
Dipping Sauce: Spaghetti Sauce

1. Let the rolls thaw at room temperature (3 or 4 hours)
2. Put 2 together & shape into a flat pancake
3. Place 5 pepperonis on the pancake. Top with italian sausage & cheese
4. Let them rise in a warm place until double (about 2 hours)
5. Bake in a 400 degree oven about 10-15 minutes or until browned
6. Serve with spaghetti sauce

Then, I had some leftover rhodes rolls. So, I looked up recipes online & I found this one!
Monkey Bread!!!
24 Rhodes Bake-n-Serv white dinner rolls
2/3 cup brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup pecans, chopped (I hate nuts in things so I did NOT add these)

Thaw rolls until soft (about 1 hour at room temperature). Cut each roll in half.
In a medium bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts together. Dip roll halves in butter then roll in cinnamon/sugar mixture until thoroughly coated.
Arrange in Bundt pan that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray and cover with plastic wrap.
Let rise until double in size (2-3 hours). Remove wrap.
Bake at 350°F for 30 to 50 minutes. Cover with foil the last 15 minutes of baking.
Immediately after removing from the oven, carefully release edges and center tube with a knife. Invert onto a serving plate.

So..... Now, to the crafting! :)
I'm still working on my quilt. I'm going to go visit my sister-in-law in 3 weeks. That's when I want to have it done.

I also tried to teach myself to knit this past week........ Let's just say that was a fail. I might try and have my grandma teach me how (she's a pro). For now, I'm just going to stick to crocheting.

Also, I refashioned a men's dress shirt into a dress.... but I'm a horrible blogger & forgot to take pictures. But, I plan on going to some thrift stores today to try and find some more that I can refashion. I promise I will take pictures of the next one.

You're A Hoot!

I love crocheting!!!! So, I thought I would share a project I made with you!

I just thought this was adorable! :) It keeps you warm plus it's super cute!
Here is a link to the pattern: http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=122078
I did not make this pattern & I give full credit to whole wheat on crochetville.
I did change up the eyes and the beak a little bit.

Eyes (in white):
Chain 3.
Work 6 hdc into the 2nd chain from hook. Join. (6 st)
RND 1: Ch 1. 2 hdc in each st around. Join. (12 st)
RND 2: Ch 1. *1 hdc in the same st, 2 hdc in the next, repeat around. Join. (18 st)

Middle of Eyes (in brown):
Chain 3.
Work 6 hdc into the 2nd chain from hook. Join. (6 st)
RND 1: Ch 1. 2 hdc in each st around. Join. (12 st)

Eyelashes:
I thought this was a nice touch! I love girly things & I thought the eyelashes made it really girly!
I just attached brown yarn in two places and then tied a knot in the back. I did this 3 times on each eye.

Beak (in brown):
The beak is made from seven single crochet stitches which are naturally reduced by not using a turning stitch. I then crocheted once around the triangle to give it a nice finish. Leave a long tail for sewing.  (I just made it a little bigger than called for)

(I didn't do the ears either. When I showed my co-workers my hat they all said, "what are those?")
I had so much fun making this hat! I love it! Now, go make you one!
