Christmas is over.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas.
I hope that everyone got to spend time with their families.
I hope that everyone got what they wanted for Christmas.
I hope that everyone got to indulge in some good cooking.

But, ultimately I hope that everyone remembers what the true reason for Christmas is & that they celebrated that as well.

Christmas Cookies

Alright, I promised Christmas cookies. So, here they are! Just to warn you, these are the best Christmas cookies you will ever eat!

 There you have it, beautiful & delicious Christmas cookies.



Christmas Cookies
3 cups sifted flour
1 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup shortening 
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
4 Tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla

1. In large bowl put flour, sugar & other dry ingredients and mix. 
2. Cut shortening & butter into dry mixture until it resembles pie crust dough. (Pea Sized)
3. Add liquid ingredients & form into ball.
4. Chill dough, then roll thin to about 1/4". Cut into desired shapes & bake in a 375 degree oven until lightly brown. 

Christmas Cookie Frosting
1 pkg powdered sugar
1 stick softened butter
few tsp of milk 
few drops of peppermint
food coloring

1. Mix powdered sugar & butter together. Then, add milk until you have the right consistency. Add peppermint to taste. 
2. Divide the frosting up & add food coloring.
