Homemade Pizza

My husband and I have set out to make our own bread & not buy store bought bread. We decided that we were going to make our own pizza dough. Pizza is definitely one of his favorite foods.

The pizza dough in the bread maker. We are borrowing my in-laws for the moment, we may have to invest in one though

This should show you how much I don't like sauce.

It was delicious, probably not that healthy. At least the dough didn't have anything bad in it for you!

Homemade Pizza

1/2 tsp Salt
3 cups All-Purpose Flour
1 and 1/2 tsps Active Dry Yeast
1 cup Water
2 Tbsps Olive Oil or Vegetable Oil

1) Combine all ingredients into bread pan.
2) Use bread maker to the instructions for dough.
3) Once the bread is done, roll out to shape a pizza.
4) Preheat oven to 400. Spread pizza sauce & add toppings.
5) Bake 15-20 minutes or until crust is golden brown.

We used mozzarella cheese & pepperoni for toppings. We like our pizza plain & simple.

Broiled Grapefruit

I bought a bag of grapefruits the other day & I have been eating them like crazy! I love grapefruit! When I was browsing through the world of pinterest I found an interesting recipe that pertained to grapefruit. Something that I have never heard of, and never even thought of.

Broiled Grapefruit. Yes, you heard right. My first thought was warm grapefruit? Sounds disgusting. Then, the more they were describing it, I needed to try it.

I thought it was pretty delicious, the grapefruit being warm didn't bother me one bit. The smell of these were unbelievable. I think warming the grapefruit intensifies the smell & flavor.

1. Turn on the oven broiler. I set mine at high temperature.
2. Using a pairing knife, cut all the way around the grapefruit and between the fruit and the rind. Try not to cut all the way through the bottom rind, you want to keep the juices. Drizzle honey lightly over the grapefruit halves. Sprinkle with brown sugar.
3. Place the grapefruit halves on baking sheet or I used a glass pyrex dish. Put in the oven, under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, just until the sugar is bubbling and crystallized.
4. Serve warm

Yum!

Polish Up

I did my nails the other day & it inspired a nails post. I love doing my own nails & I'm pretty sure it's something that most girls like to do. My mom for Christmas got me the tools to do acrylic nails, so I've been practicing on myself. I feel like I've gotten pretty good at it. If you want to check out all my nails pins, head on over to my pinterest.

These are my nails!!! How fun, right? I love doing just one nail with an accent color.

I love mint nails anyways, but with this hint of gold sparkle makes these amazing!

Extreme Couponing

Last week I started watching Extreme Couponing on Netflix. It is amazing how much that these people save on their grocery bill (their stockpile is also a little extreme).

Here is an example of the total bill:
Her total bill was $1,958.90, but after scanning all coupons, she only paid $19.62. Wow, that's amazing!

Here are some tips I've learned from the show

I've learned from the show is that if you find something on sale & have a really good coupon, you can actually make money off of the item. So, that item is worth purchasing if you are making money even if you aren't going to use it. But, please donate it to someone who can use it if you aren't planning on using it.

I guess I always knew that stores did rain checks (if a store is out of an item they will give you a rain check on that same sale price), but I guess I didn't realize how important they are.

Check the coupon policies at different stores, some stores will double or triple the coupon! Some stores like target, will let you use a target coupon & a manufacturer coupon plus if the item is on sale, you will get a steal on that item! Also, target will give you a discount off your bill if you bring in reusable bags.

Websites like hip2save or coupon mom are awesome sites. They give you all the deals so you don't have to search for them. They also give you different freebie's.

Happy Couponing!
